Hi, I'm Abby. I'm an artist, designer, and marketer who loves finding unexpected solutions by weaving together creativity and logic. In the longest of long terms, I see myself as a Chief Creative Officer somewhere in Europe, fingies crossed. If you need to know anything about me, you can likely start with art, lemons, my cat, travel, and Trader Joe's. I think it also helps to know I've been called "quirky" too many times for it to be a coincidence.

One of my favorite icebreakers is, "If you were a color, which would you be and why?" My answer has been curated over several years, "I'd be light yellow because it's bright and makes people happy, and that's what I want to be.” Lemons embody that brightness and openness, and they always remind me of traveling. They have the same energy and possibility that make early mornings my favorite time of day.

Growing up, my dad was in the Air Force, so I spent most of my life moving every few years until I was a sophomore in high school. Winter Garden is my hometown now, though it's funny because I’ve spent more time in Tallahassee. I used to be a really shy kid, but move after move, I've found that in the most basic sense, we're all just looking for ways to connect. So, I like to be the first one to open conversations and make others more comfortable. My affinity for transparency and direct communication has sometimes been interpreted as ‘over-sharing,’ but at least you know I have nothing to hide.

I love traveling (16 countries and counting) and finding all the ways those human universals sneak out from place to place. One of my favorite things to do (maybe ever) is travel painting: sitting down and drawing or painting little things that capture a new city. High-detail watercolor is my unexpected specialty, and in recent years, architecture across cultures has been a huge fascination, established first when I took a "sketching the city" class while studying abroad in Florence. I get a lot of inspiration that way and surprisingly meet a lot of… interesting people.

I'm a proud two-time alum of Florida State University, with a BA in music (2023) and an MS in art education (2025). As expected, FSU holds a lot of sentimental value for me; My path through college was far from what I’d planned in minute detail as a freshman. I started in music education, hit a really dark period there, and reprioritized, deciding to graduate early and pursue my master’s in art education. Some of the highlights of my time as a student were being in Marching Chiefs for four years and getting to serve on the 2024 homecoming court, which was such an honor. All these compounding experiences led me to my current role at University Marketing, and I’m so excited to see where I end up next. (Again, hopefully Europe.)

My degrees have taught me there are a lot of unexpected similarities and applications between art education and marketing; both require a balance of creative empathy and strategic thinking to find what resonates. What I do now is bring a fine art perspective to strategic communications; creating premium brand assets, translating complex topics into digestible content, and developing creative strategy. In essence, I love solving problems, and my best work happens while collaborating with others to push boundaries.
Rapid-fire round: I lived in Germany as a kid, have a black belt in Taekwondo, and speak conversational Japanese. My dream is to work as an in-house creative for a brand like Trader Joe's or IKEA. All these experiences have built on each other in ways I couldn't have planned, and I'm just so excited to see where I can take this thing.

Oh, and obviously, Go Noles.
